Where love of

learning begins

Library

The Long Ridge School library provides students with a joyful learning experience. During weekly classroom visits, students acquire the skills they need to explore, to consider, and to communicate ideas in meaningful ways while learning to navigate the ever-increasing demands of informational literacy in the 21st century.

The library experience is active and fun. By offering a flexible curriculum, students are invited to browse through a catalog of print and audiobooks which have been thoughtfully curated to encourage lifelong readers. Following the read aloud, students participate in a variety of creative, hands-on activities to complement and enhance the story. Students are also guided through the process of learning to research while exploring classroom themes. Special events such as the annual Book Fair, author visits, after-school special programs, and hot chocolate parties, are also part of the library experience. And our sun-filled space is where parents occasionally gather for discussions with area professionals.

“I love librarians.
They always make me feel like the world’s gonna be A-OK.”
