Annual Auction and Benefit
Date: Saturday, April 22, 2017
Venue: Hibernian Hall, Downtown Stamford
The Annual Auction and Benefit is the school’s largest fundraising event. We hope that you plan on supporting this year’s event on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at The Long Ridge School. LRS is fortunate to have many parents who donate their time and talents to make the Auction a fun and financially successful evening.
Volunteering is a great way to make friends, have fun, and help the school. There are many ways to get involved. All are welcome and encouraged to join one of the various committees. Soliciting donations from the businesses you frequent is essential part of the Auction. Consider donating a special talent or hobby. All donations require a completed Auction Donation Record no later than March 3, 2017.
The solicitation team can always use help. If you are creative, consider joining the Display and Decorations committee or Marketing and Advertising committee. If your time is limited, we need volunteers to help on a one-time basis such as stuffing invitations, wrapping basket items, setting-up the day of, and working the night of the event.
Look for announcements in the Owl Notes for upcoming meetings and ways to get involved.
If you have any questions in the interim, please contact the Development Office.
Hot items tend to be our class baskets, teacher experiences, toys, electronics, jewelry and accessories, restaurants, spas, and fitness gift certificates.
Head of School for a day, VIP Parking, Broadway show tickets with backstage tour, vacation resorts and homes, VIP tickets to sporting events, adventure activities, celebrity meet and greets, golf outings, etc. are items that encourage spirited, competitive bidding.
Auction baskets are hot-ticket items. Families donate towards the basket. The funds raised will be used to purchase items to fill the basket.
Each year we invite auction attendees to donate towards a specific school need. In the past, we have raised money for new technology, upper playground renovation. This year’s funds will go towards library enhancements.
