About Us

The Long Ridge School is an independent, co-educational nursery and elementary school located on 14 woodland acres in Northern Stamford, Connecticut. The School enrolls children two years old through grade five, drawn from many local Connecticut and New York towns.

Here's a story about the power of social media! A few months back we posted a video about The Long Ridge School's robotics program on our Facebook page which was seen by a Saranac Lake, NY elementary school teacher. The video inspired her to contact her friend and our Science teacher, Carissa Lewis, and start the first robotics program at St. Bernard's School. Here's Carissa's account of the connection."The coolest thing happened to me last week! Well, actually it all started back in March when we (The Long Ridge School) posted a video on Facebook about our latest addition to our robotics program, the mBot. Because of this video, an old high school friend reached out to me to learn a little more about this little machine and seek some advice about bringing robotics to her school. After a few messages back and forth, Marla McGinnis successfully launched a robotics program St. Bernard’s School in Saranac Lake, NY (my hometown), and this week they were featured in The Adirondack Daily Enterprise!
